Dear Lori,
I thought I'd start this newsletter with a few photos from
Wickford's Daffodil Days Weekend which was at the beginning of
the month and gave us great business and an opportunity to see
alot of familiar faces. Do you recognize anyone? Our first
ever fashion show went off without a hitch due to the models
who were such great sports despite the chilly weather and
Janelle Feigley from Gossip
whose hard work and great spirit made it all happen. Cheers to
you, Janelle - what a great emcee- er you are!

Later in the day, Wickford's own historian, Tim Cranston
gave a walking tour of the village. Pausing at one of the
oldest and most photographed buildings on the tour, folks got
to hear about the heritage of our beloved Avis Block while
checking out the sidewalk sale at the same time!

Last Saturday, I, along with about a fifteen other runners
from my gym, did the Scott
Carlson Memorial 5k. We've been training for all spring at
Golds.
Scott was a brave young man who we lost way too soon to ALS.
The race was at Goddard Park and the weather couldn't have
been better. Everyone did awesome and a lot of money was
raised for a great cause. After we all crossed the finish
line, friends and neighbors got together to carry on our
tradition - a group shot after the race for the B&B
newsletter! Mark Matoes, Nancy Shanahan-Brown, Doreen and
Steve Furtado, myself and T. Todd Brown.

Time to brag! If you pick up the May issue of RI
Monthly you will see my handsome brother, Joe with a great
shot of him casting and an article about the growth of the
popularity of surfcasting and his now larger than life website
and online tackle shop. It's very appropriate that it's the
special anniversary issue marking not only a milestone of
twenty years of the magazine, but coinciding with that, Joe's
surfcasting-rhodeisland.com
has grown from just a few hits a day to thousands of happy
customers and visitors to his site. I am so proud.

|
So RI May issue features Beauty and the Bath. Here's the
article.

Around Town.. get out this weekend!

The latest issue of South County Style also has some great
glossy full page photos of our beautiful town taken by Susan
Smith for the magazine. You can get a copy by going to www.SouthCou
ntyRI.com or simply pick up at any gateway to RI like the
highway welcome centers, T.F. Green Airport, Kingston Train
Station and other hotels and tourism centers throughout the
state. Check it out!

That's all for now, many blessings as we all start to get
out, get our hands in the soil and sweep off those porches and
stoops. Wickford is alive and pretty and the UPS and Fed Ex
trucks in town overflowing with packages to be delivered every
day tells me that shops are stocked and ready to greet you.
I'll be in touch next week with gift ideas for Mother's Day-
one of our biggest holidays here at the bath shop... go
figure!
