My lilac topiary blooming means summer's underway!
I just love the early stages of any season, but I especially love early summer. The morning air is crisp and clean, and the afternoons are warm enough to lunch at an alfresco café. We girls get to wear our cheeriest sundresses and our strappiest sandals, like Sarah Jessica Parker in the Gap ad., skipping down the street singing “I enjoy being a girl". It's miraculous

Wickford Happenings
Things are movin' & shakin' in Wickford. I was soooo happy to hear EJ Ryan has decided to take the reins at Ryan's Market is readying himself to bring our favorite family market into a new chapter. He tells me he's planning to do quality, upscale prepared foods to go and some changes are on the horizon. Jay Donahue- he's such a love- is back behind the meat counter and is running the kitchen! Yay! Pop in and visit the boys.
And...there's big doins' going on right next door to Ryan's, as well. The Harborside served it's last lunch crowd in April and the space has been turned into a spectacular new home for Wickford Toys and Stationary. Angela, the owner is planning a big re-opening ribbon-cutting ceremony this Friday at 4 pm. Stop in and see how great it looks.

Village Plays Host To Catalog Shoot
Jessica London has been shooting their fall catalog in Wickford this week.
You have to admit, our village is pretty photogenic!
The crew has so enjoyed our stores and flowers
We've so enjoyed the cute photographers!

Concert Series Begins
The Tuesday Night Concert Series (behind Wilson's) gets underway Tuesday, June 14th. This is just another great "perk" of being in Wickford. You can pack your lawnchairs, bring a picnic dinner and enjoy some wonderful music on a summer night. And it's free. What's better than that? It takes a lot of work to make it happen, so be sure to thank one of the volunteers while you're there and maybe drop a little something in the donation basket for the Arts Council.
