My Foxgloves have finally rewarded me!
Summer's off to its usual whirlwind of activities. Last week I went to the try-outs for the 2006 Rhode Island Firefighter Calender. My dear friend, Tammy Cash- Calise called on me to come out and support her husband, Michael who is on the Johnston FD and was trying out. After all, it was a fundraiser for the Station Fund, and who am I to say "no" to helping out a good cause. Let's just say that there was no lack of "heat" when these guys took to the stage! Michael didn't make the cut, but Tammie and I did make it on the front page of the Rhode Island section of the Pro Jo the next day! Busted! The Brandaris
Great news! When our Annual Pajama Party in December started getting so popular, customers began asking me to have a summertime event at night. Well it took a while, but I put my thinking cap on came up with something I think you'll all love!
Beauty and the Bath's Midsummer Night's Wellness Cruise aboard the Brandaris. We board the dutch sailing vessel, Brandaris, (docked in Wickford harbor) at 7pm. And then embark on a sunset sail for 2 hours while enjoying a wonderful hand treatment and pedicure. We'll have wine and yummy hors'douvres. There'll be preferred customer specials and of course, lots of free samples. The tentative date is set for Thursday, August 25th. The cost of the entire evening is $50.00. Call the store to reserve your space. I'll be sending out another reminder via email in the upcoming weeks. I urge you to sign up soon, this will fill up quickly!
After Hours Happenings At Beauty
Kent County Hosp.'s ER Nurses held a bridal shower for their co-worker, Sharon Brown, last month. The guests arrived an hour ahead of the bride-to-be and shopped for the bride. We offered a 10% discount and gift wrapped each purchase. The bride arrived and...surprise! An effortless, casual bridal shower began!! This is a wonderful idea for a second marriage or an informal work shower. Gift Registry Available. Call the shop (401-294-3576)to check availability.
