Autumn-blooming clematis envelops my birdhouse.

I know I say it all the time, but how lucky are we? Aren't we fortunate to have two times a year to begin anew. School starts, gardening ends, clothes shopping becomes a priority and we start to take a look around the inside of our homes, redecorating the nest for winter. I'm feeling like I need to have one last cookout on the porch..and those October flea markets... I LOVE FALL! We're more comfortable, things are richer and more festive. The air is easier to breathe and the trees.. well, after all, this is New England.
October means the store begins to slowly change its leaves, too. Snuggly warm pajamas are starting to trickle in, and we're paying extra attention to candles that burn warm homey fragrances.
